Commissioned by York Region’s executive office to organize and oversee a professional photo shoot for 22 elected officials — including mayors and Councillors — in preparation for the pre-election public communications and official City Hall portrait installations in Newmarket, Ontario.
WHY (Goal)
To execute a coordinated, professional photography production that visually represents York Region’s leadership with consistency, quality, and respect.
Objective: Plan, photograph, retouch, print, frame, and install all official portraits within strict timelines and under administrative approval.
Message: “Professional leadership deserves professional presentation.”
HOW (My Work)
Objective: Deliver a full-scope visual production with coordination between regional administration, photographers, and installation teams.
Project Planning & Coordination:
Initiated meetings with CEO Lina Bigioni and administrative assistant to establish project scope, production flow, and final deadlines.
Developed timeline from photoshoot to framing and installation with contingency planning for revisions.
Creative & Technical Execution:
Selected and coordinated a reputable professional photographer and assistant with proven executive portrait experience.
Scheduled 22 individual sessions for mayors and councillors with minimal interruption to their official duties.
Managed on-site logistics, setup, and timing to ensure consistency in lighting and presentation.
Editing & Approval Process:
Collected and incorporated feedback from multiple administrative members.
Oversaw final retouching to ensure uniform quality and natural representation across all portraits.
Production & Installation:
Approved final print dimensions, paper quality, and frame style in collaboration with City Hall administration.
Coordinated framing and installation team on the scheduled date for seamless setup within the municipal building.
RESULT (Impact)
Before:
No centralized plan or visual consistency among leadership portraits; approaching election deadline required full coordination and fast delivery.
After:
Full-scale portrait production executed on time and within all administrative guidelines
